UCL School of Management is delighted to welcome Professor Paul Longley, UCL, to host a research seminar discussing ‘Consumer data research applications in business and management’
Abstract
The Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) funded Consumer Data Research Centre (CDRC) was established in 2014 with UCL as one of the lead sites. Since that time, over 30 Data Licencing Agreements have been forged with leading high street retailers, domestic energy providers, passenger transport organisations, and other retailers. The CDRC also hosts a nationwide Masters Research Dissertation Programme, which brings together retailers, academics and masters students on co-sponsored projects. PhD awards have also been co-sponsored by retailers in association with the UCL-led ESRC Doctoral Training Programme. This presentation will summarise some of the achievements arising out of collaborations with customer-facing businesses. Particular emphasis will be given to store loyalty card analysis and the linkage of consumer registers over a 20-year period. The work of the CDRC can be viewed at cdrc.ac.uk and maps.cdrc.ac.uk.
