Rikke Duus involved in opening debate at European Forum Alpbach Health Symposium

Dr Rikke Duus, Research Associate and Senior Teaching Fellow at UCL School of Management, was invited to take part in the opening debate of the European Forum Alpbach’s Health Symposium in Austria.

European Forum Alpbach is an interdisciplinary platform for science, politics, business and culture. Established in 1945, the European Forum Alpbach hosts events that address relevant socio-political questions of our time.

Joining Dr Duus on the debating panel were members including Anders Sandberg (University of Oxford), Raffael Kalisch (Johannes Gutenberg University Medical Center Mainz) and Flavia Wahl (CEO, IBREVE Ltd.).

The panel debated the motion ‘Does technology foster human resilience?’ with presenters putting forward a range of perspectives from the fields of neuroscience, ethics, global society, well-being and human-tech hybridity.

Dr Duus and Dr Kalisch successfully presented the most convincing arguments and were declared winners of the debate by the audience. The event was attended by over 200 participants from academia, research, and industry.
