In February, 22 students from UCL School of Management’s BSc Information Management for Business programme and 10 from our BSc/MSci Management Science programme attended the first-ever UCL x Checkout.com Exclusive Insight Session organised by Senior Employability Engagement Officers Oliver Peachey and Priya Chauhan. The Insight Session was hosted at Checkout.com’s Global Headquarters near Old Street in London.
Students gained valuable insights from business leaders from across one of the UK’s most valuable FinTech companies, listening to presentations that featured live opportunities, participating in workshops focused on Checkout.com’s operating principles and touring the company spaces. Students also received personalised CV guidance and feedback from staff in the recruitment team to conclude the day.
Following the session, Checkout.com opened applications to their Summer Internship programmes for attendees and also provided details on their new and upcoming graduate scheme to be shared will all undergraduate students across UCL School of Management.
Our host, Sarah Wilson, former Global Talent Programmes Manager Checkout.com said: “One of the highlights of working in Early Careers is the opportunity to connect with future talent and share insights from the workplace that will inspire and build aspirations. This was one of those moments, when, together with colleagues from across the organisation, I was delighted to host students from the UCL School of Management at the Checkout.com offices in London.”
Dominik Dangel, third-year IMB student also described the day: “Looking back, it was a fantastic event. Checkout.com showed that enterprise isn’t just about innovation, it’s about collaboration. The panel discussion reinforced how every role, from engineering to commercial product development, contributes to a bigger impact. Seeing these connections in action was truly inspiring…also knowing that the office is dog friendly really made me happy.”
