UCL ranks number 1 in the UK for Information Systems and Management in The Times

We are thrilled to announce that University College London has topped the list of universities in the UK to study information systems and management according to The Sunday Times. With UCL School of Management’s BSc Information Management for Business (IMB) programme leading the achievement, the ranking analysed metrics such as teaching quality, student experience, research quality and graduate prospects. The programme also featured in a recent article from The Times designed to connect prospective students with the leading programmes in their area of study.

Delivered in collaboration with Dr Karen Stepanyan from UCL Computer Science, the IMB programme is a pioneering degree programme developed with some of the UK’s most well-known companies. Detailing the programme, Deputy Programme Director Edyta Kostanek told The Times, “We focus on developing independent thinkers and creative problem-solvers, providing a vibrant, diverse community that fosters personal and professional growth. Students are equipped with cutting-edge knowledge that is supported by the latest research in innovation and entrepreneurship.”

In 2024 alone, the programme has seen IMB alumna Sara Berkai featured in the BBC 100 Women list in recognition of her start-up Ambessa Play, and IMB alumnus Mihai Marcuta has also raised $3.2 million in funding for his start-up NodeShift. Earlier this year, our incredible IMB team also took home UCL’s Inclusive Practice Award, which recognised and celebrated a recent project from the IMB team that hopes to support the experiences of A2UCL, disability and mature students at the university.

Discussing the momentous achievement, Programme Director Maya Cara stated, “We are incredibly proud of the IMB programme’s recognition as the number one programme in the UK for Information Systems and Management by The Sunday Times. This accomplishment reflects the hard work and dedication of our staff and students. While our recent NSS scores demonstrate strong student satisfaction and improvements in various areas, we remain committed to working hard and finding new ways to enhance the student experience and maintain our high standards.
