UCL teams take top spots at TCS Sustainathon 2025

Two UCL teams have claimed first and second place at the 2025 TCS Sustainathon, a leading competition that challenges participants to tackle real-world sustainability issues using technology. The event provides a platform for young innovators to collaborate with private companies, non-profit organisations, and government agencies.

The winning team represented UCL’s Department of Political Science and School of Public Policy, while the runner-up team consisted of BSc/MSci Management Science students from UCL School of Management. With top universities from across the UK competing, this achievement highlights UCL’s strength in driving impactful, sustainable solutions.

Both teams impressed judges with creative, technology-driven proposals for Virgin Atlantic, addressing real-world challenges with innovation and purpose. This outstanding result reflects the hard work and resilience of all participants.

Congratulations to Gabrielle Goodwin, Karen Monie, Molly Chen and Julia Klimashevskaia, our fantastic Management Science students.
