We are thrilled to announce an exciting collaboration between UCL School of Management and iMMAP Inc., a leading information services provider to United Nations agencies and humanitarian organisations during crises. Led by Shivaang Sharma, PhD researcher and Adjunct Lecturer at UCL School of Management, this initiative explores the utilisation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for crisis response.
This collaboration marks the beginning of an exciting journey aimed at leveraging AI to enhance crisis response efforts. Our focus lies in exploring the developments and deployments of AI during crises, tackling the challenges associated with integrating AI into existing workflows, and critically assessing the differential impacts of AI across various social groups.
We are thrilled to present the first issue in a series of research reports dedicated to utilising AI for crisis response. These reports are hosted on the UN knowledge portal, serving as invaluable resources for crisis responders and policymakers alike.
Stay tuned as we embark on this journey to harness the power of AI for social good and pave the way for innovative solutions in humanitarian efforts.
