In the Summer of 2025, the UCL School of Management welcomed 50 international students from a number of partner institutions, including Copenhagen Business School, Singapore Management University, Ewha School of Business, Universidad Torcuato Di Tella, KU Leuven, HSUHK and Tsinghua University, to London for the two-week Innovation Ecosystems for Grand Challenges (IEGC) programme.
The IEGC programme is the School of Management’s flagship summer programme, introducing students to fundamental concepts of innovation ecosystems and their key pillars. The programme included sessions led by the School’s world-leading faculty on organisational design, digital-driven business innovation, sustainability and artificial intelligence.
In addition to the academic programme, students participated in cutting-edge industry sessions as well as an exciting social and cultural programme giving them the opportunity to network and expand their international business links.
Victoria Karaxha, Senior Global Engagement Officer and IEGC Programme Manager, said: “The programme this year has been a great success! We have been able to bring together a really diverse group of students to see how their unique perspective shapes their view of grand challenges and how they can be tackled.”
Magda Hercheui, Professor and IEGC Programme Director, echoed this message: “The IEGC groups this year have proposed outstanding projects, putting together good ideas for solving Grand Challenges, grounded on pragmatic and doable steps. The commitment and engagement of the teams are commendable. We have learnt a lot from each other.”
