Biography

An operations management specialist with an almost equal split of experience between business and academic environments. Over recent years, I have combined academic activities with voluntary roles focused around developing meeting points that bring business and academia together to benefit the wider community.

Academic teaching and research underpin my work. Consultancy services draw on my background in manufacturing and service operations, in both Europe and the Far East, and include executive training course design and delivery and mentoring Green/Black Belts in Lean Six Sigma.

Since 2015, as Associate Editor of Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Research and since 2006, as an Editorial Review Board Member of the Journal of Operations Management, and since 2004, as Editorial Advisory Board Member of the Business Process Management Journal. I have guest edited 8 journal special issues, of which the last was in 2014, for Decision Sciences, Vol. 45 Issue 4, entitled “Responsible Purchasing and Supply Practices”.
