About the role

The Communications Manager will be responsible for delivering exposure of the research, expertise, and impact of the university’s world-class Business School – The UCL School of Management.

The Manager will work closely with our growing research teams to strategically produce compelling external-facing content for a range of audiences. Developing close relationships with journalists and media partners will be a key aspect of this role, ensuring the School of Management is a top choice for business commentary in a range of media outlets nationally and internationally.

They will also line manage the Communications Officer, together curating a suite of content that shines a light on the world-leading and internationally excellent research operating at the intersections of business.

About you

The successful candidate will need to evidence the following in their application:

  • Proven experience in media relations and research communications at a business school.
  • Experience in developing and delivering proactive public relations plans and campaigns across print, broadcast, and digital platforms.
  • Experience in pitching stories to a range of journalists and delivering strong news and feature opportunities.
  • Experience devising, planning, and delivering strategic communications campaigns.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to develop and deliver PR and communications plans that are strategic and have longevity.
  • Can interpret and translate complicated research and data for a range of audiences, adapting language and tone appropriately.
