With the support of UCL’s global network, UCL School of Management is bringing you three new Speaker Series. Hosted once a month, these series will cover a broad range of topics, with a variety of guest speakers to provide you with an insight into their world of business.
The series is open to current students, alumni and staff and will be held at UCL School of Management’s home in Canary Wharf’s iconic One Canada Square. Once a term, on a rotating basis, one of these speaker series will open to the public, showcasing a sample of what the UCL School of Management community represents and the knowledge and expertise that we share.
Business Leaders Speaker Series
This Speaker Series will give insight on the business world, specifically from a leadership perspective. Over the course of the Series, expect to see diverse leaders from all aspects of the professional business landscape, including entrepreneurs, managers, investors, directors and CEOs.

Guest speaker: Geoffrey Pelham-Lane
Co-Founder of Camarco and Chairman of APCO UK, Geoffrey Pelham-Lane visited Canary Wharf to present his case study entitled ‘Camarco: From start-up to sale.’ With almost 40 years of experience in his field, Geoffrey shared a fascinating story that began with his role as a Buy-Side Investment Analyst. In his later years, he contributed to playing a key role in defending NatWest against the £21 billion hostile bid by RBS and participated in a £25 million management buy-out of Financial Dynamics from Cordiant Capital that was sold just four years later for $260 million USD. Guest speaker: Florian Schoeller
As our final guest speaker for February, we invited Co-Founder of Scope Group, Florian Schoeller. Founded in 2002, Scope Group is one of Europe’s leading rating agencies and has assigned approximately 800 credit ratings to date. In 2023, Scope Group was accepted by the European Central Bank as the first and only European rating agency under the Eurosystem Credit Assessment Framework (ECAF). Since then, the company has continued to expand and increase their shareholder base, securing high-profile investors such as Stefan Quandt, as well as major financial institutions such as AXA, BCPE and Credit Agricole.
