
UCL School of Management’s own Professor Susan Smith has been appointed to the International Panel on Accountancy Education, a key advisory group within the International Federation of Accountants.
The appointment is regarded as a highly significant achievement in the global accounting community and reflects Susan’s position as a leading voice in the field.
IFAC brings together practitioners, educators and professional leaders from across the world to help the profession respond to rapid changes in business models, technology and expectations of financial stewardship. Its advisory groups provide insight on emerging developments, contribute to sector guidance and help ensure that global standard setting is informed by real world experience.
Susan joins the panel as one of five new members for 2026 and was nominated by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. The panel focuses on advancing high quality and future focused accountancy education and plays a central role in shaping how the next generation of professional accountants are trained.
