UCL MBA celebrates graduating students during Immersion weekend in London

Earlier this month, the UCL MBA programme celebrated the incredible success of its 13 graduating students at an in-person completion ceremony held at Senate House. Taking place during the programme’s bi-annual Immersion weekend, the event welcomed families, graduates, and current UCL MBA students to London to commemorate the occasion.

A themed weekend, the May 2025 Immersion focused on the significance of finding purpose as a leader and the ways in which these skills can be honed to transform purpose into impact. The weekend offered students the opportunity to network, work together and gain key insights on techniques that are designed to enhance their professional and personal development.

Opening the Immersion, Programme Director Harveen Chugh shared important updates on the programme, including the introduction of the UCL MBA’s first-ever Global Immersion, which is due to take place later this year in Beijing. Harveen also highlighted the Global DigitalHack, an online initiative encouraging students to provide innovative solutions to real-world business problems.

On Day 1 of the Immersion, students visited UCL School of Management’s home on Level 50 of One Canada Square where they attended workshops held by our very own Lecturer Lorenzo Todorow and Coach and Director of Future Me Consulting Katie Scotland. In Lorenzo’s session, students adopted the Hogan Personality Inventory to identify and explore their leadership values and priorities. Leadership Coaching expert Katie Scotland then encouraged students to ‘find their why’ and use this to inform and shape their leadership techniques.

On the second day of the Immersion weekend, students headed to UCL’s Bloomsbury campus for an insightful panel session designed to showcase leadership stories that matter. Chaired by UCL School of Management Director Davide Ravasi, the panel welcomed Saul Resnick, CEO of DHL Supply Chain UK&I, Anthony Impey, CEO of Be the Business, Florence San, COO of Ren San & Co, Chris Roebuck, UCL alumni and former Global Head of Leadership at UBS, Anna Freeman, Interim CEO of MyFood24, and Yota Trom, Founder of Together in Tech. For their final workshop, students were joined by Transformational Coach Yvette Ankrah, who delivered a session on the significance and creation of purpose-driven leadership plans.

Learning aside, our UCL MBA students also enjoyed plenty of opportunities to connect with one another throughout the Immersion weekend, including drinks and food at Canary Wharf’s Tribe Hotel on Friday, a meal at Senate House following the completion ceremony, as well as a visit to Clays for an afternoon of clay pigeon shooting on Saturday.
