Description
UCL School of Management is delighted to welcome Professor Torbjørn Netland, ETH Zurich, Switzerland,to host a research seminar discussing: On Empirical Operations Management, Field Experiments, and Relevance.
Abstract:
“Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get.” I am borrowing this line from Forrest Gump for my talk at UCL, which will highlight empirical operations management research at the Chair of Production and Operations Management at ETH Zurich. I want to illustrate how we design field experiments from relevant management questions, try to carry them through as best as we can, and seek to publish the outcomes in top OM journals – while also impacting and improving practice.
