About the role
The main purpose of this role is to support and enhance alumni engagement at the UCL School of Management. This includes building strong connections within the alumni community, integrating them into the School’s life, and contributing to its long-term success. Key responsibilities involve optimising alumni engagement through volunteering and networking, identifying volunteer opportunities, overseeing comprehensive alumni programmes, and managing engagement initiatives. Key qualifications for this role include experience in community building, event and volunteer management, strong digital communication skills, and the ability to cultivate relationships with diverse alumni and UCL staff. Effective oral and written communication, coupled with a meticulous and detail-oriented approach, are essential for success.
The Alumni Relations Officer reports directly to the Alumni Relations Manager and collaborates closely with various School teams, including Teaching and Learning, Communications and Marketing, Careers, and Student Experience.
Please note that this position is a secondment opportunity with a fixed-term contract of 8 months to cover maternity leave.
About you
Educated to degree level, the postholder will be required to build and sustain relationships with a variety of international stakeholders, and therefore must possess excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills whilst maintaining a high level of cultural awareness. The ability to work effectively and calmly under pressure whilst delivering high-quality service standards is vital, as is the ability to work independently to tight deadlines with minimum supervision.
