Nelberto Nicholas Quinto, or “Sam” for short, is a doctoral researcher in the Organizations & Innovation group. His research focuses on Human-AI Collaboration, Creativity, and Collective Intelligence. In particular, Sam explores how “collaborating” with AI alters processes and work experiences, and how these changes, in turn, influence outcomes for individuals and teams engaged in creative work. He also delves into computational models to uncover novel theories about how groups of individuals with varying interests, priorities, or capabilities can collaborate in solving complex problems related to negotiations, innovation, and conflict resolution. Sam utilizes a variety of research methods. In particular, he uses computational modeling, machine learning, and qualitative methods for theory building; and experimental and econometric methods for theory testing. Before joining UCL, Sam worked as a data scientist at BNP Paribas HQ in Paris and as an analyst in an AI think-tank. He graduated with a Master’s in Management from ESSEC Business School, a Research Master’s in Economics from CY Cergy Paris University, and a Bachelor’s in Management Engineering from the Ateneo de Manila University. His supervisors are Sarah Harvey (creativity and teams) and Joshua Becker (collective intelligence and computational models).
